Rechargeable CQ20 battery makers, led by Samsung, LG Chem and Sanyo Electric, are betting on strong growth thanks to rising demand from makers of electric cars, smartphones, tablets and other consumer electronics products.
Samsung SDI, which counts Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co among its major battery clients, predicted the global lithium-ion HP Pavilion dv7 battery market would swell to $32 billion in 2015 from $11 billion last year.
The estimate is more bullish than some analysts' predictions, reflecting prospects for the fast-growing electric car battery sector.
Samsung SDI also estimated electric vehicles would account for 7 percent of the global automobile market by 2015, rising to 17 percent by 2020.
Samsung SDI shares ended 4.8 percent higher after climbing as much as 5.8 percent to a fresh record high.
The company said earlier this month that it planned to spend $359 million on HP 464059-141 Battery production this year in order to boost capacity.
Thus, if the CPUs are sold separately, we could be seeing this technology in a number of other devices next year - not just in whatever might be the next installment of the Galaxy S series. While this is certainly exciting and deserves support, such advancements could lead to higher prices and less HP HDX18 Battery life initially. It might be awhile before a smartphone with this processing power seems like a great deal overall.
Three months after its unveiling, the Motorola Droid Bionic is still without a launch date or price. And now it appears that the handset won't land at Verizon Wireless until the third quarter of this year.
In a conversation with The Wall Street Journal today, a Motorola spokeswoman said Moto is delaying the Droid Bionic's release until this summer so it can incorporate several enhancements that will make "an even better HP HSTNN-IB75 Battery consumer experience." The spokeswoman didn't offer specifics, but the original second-quarter launch window is now seen as unlikely.
Neither Motorola nor Verizon have said much about the dual-core handset since they first pulled the curtain back at CES in early January. Typically, that's the perfect time for the rumor mill to start up, which is exactly what happened last week.
A member from Howard Forums first got the Android faithful buzzing when he claimed that Motorola had scrapped the plans for the Bionic in favor of another device. What's more, the member said the replacement HP Pavilion dv8 Battery model would not arrive until the middle of the year at the earliest.
The Droid Bionic impressed us a lot in Las Vegas, so we're glad to see it's still on track, even if it's coming a bit later. As to exactly what kind of changes are coming, might I suggest taking the time to offer a thinner form factor or Gingerbread update? How would you change the droid Bionic?
The first two days with the gadget went as expected, with the exception that one time the WiFi router part of the hotspot locked up. The device was useless, and wouldn’t even power off; I had to open it up and pull the 2710p battery out to get it to power cycle. Once that was performed it was back to business as usual.
Unfortunately these lockups began to happen frequently and eventually I couldn’t use the Samsung for longer than 5 minutes before the next freeze. The device was useless to me as I couldn’t expect it to perform without interrupting my workflow. It was definitely time to do something about it.
Today I was running errands and realized I would be passing by a Verizon store so I stopped to see if they could help me. I didn’t expect much as usually data modems must involve tech support in some distant location. Much to my surprise the salesman listened to my brief account and said he’d help me out. |
